Regulations for swimming pool and spa barriers

The Victorian Government is in the final stages of its preparations to introduce Swimming Pool and Spa regulations.

The Government has drafted Regulations which propose to introduce mandatory registration requirements for private swimming pools and spas. Swimming pool and spa owners will be required to register their pool/spa with their local Council. The pool/spa will need to be inspected by a qualified building inspector, every 3 years, who will issue a certificate of compliance for the pool/spa and safety barrier.

The proposed new requirements for private swimming pools and spas has just been released for public consultation. Have your say on the Engage Victoria website, link below. The public consultation period will remain open until 5.00pm on Friday 6 September 2019.
